MyndfieldsGenre: other Location: Corpus Christi, TX Visits: 3268 | Bio/Info: Myndfields and the Chili Funk Horns is one of the most exciting and versatile cover/dance bands in South Texas. Classic Rock, Old School R&B, from big band to rock and alternative, this band plays a bit of everything. Everyone in the band is either a professional musician, or a college music major. MYNDFIELDS Myndfields is the core group to four bands. The band is essentially a rhythm section that is often augmented with local jazz saxophonist Eddie Olivares Jr. MYNDFIELDS AND THE CHILI FUNK HORNS The Chili Funk Horns is my horn section. There aren't many bands with a horn section anymore. I'm proud to have them and when they're with us our repertoire triples. But mostly they add that big, fat wall of sound that only a horn section does for a band. Together we are Myndfields & The Chili Funk Horns, pictured here with current band members. GLYNN GARCIA LITTLE BIG BAND Expanding the band with a few more horn players further enables the band to produce a more authentic big band sound. The Little Big Band is exactly what the name suggests; its a smaller version of a classic big band/orchestra and is composed of 3 saxophones, 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, and 3-4 piece rhythm section plus a percussionist. We are able to play classic big band music from the 30s-40s, jet set swing from the 50s-early 60s era, and Latin orquestra music. Of course we maintain our ability to play all the music of the other two bands. Perfectly suited to an audience with a wide range in age groups. GLYNN GARCIA ORCHESTRA The sound of a full orchestra is simply elegant and stirring. A full complement of 5 saxophones, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, and 4-5 piece rhythm section plus a percussionist and guest vocalists: this orchestra can play virtually anything. And the sound is everything you would expect of a 19-20 piece orchestra. BIG! Classic Rock, Blues, Country, Jazz, Alternative, Tejano, Reggae, Salsa, Big Band Swing…. From the 40s to the present day… Glen Miller to Los Lonely Boys… We play a little of everything.
